John was born in 1945, studied Mechanical Engineering at University and graduated with a BSC. Now a retired sub-sea engineer, his spare time is split between his family and his interest in art.

John enjoys working with mixed media and acrylic paints and his preferred subjects are boats, maritime scenes , harbours and the working environment associated with the sea.

He has had a few solo exhibitions in Paris, Le Havre, Singapore and Calgary in Canada and has also participated in various group exhibitions in Houston USA, Le Havre at Salon d’Automne, Honfleur at Art et Tradition, Granville, Paris at Assemblee National au Palais Bourbon, and in Scotland at Peter Potter gallery, Haddington.

John is a member of Dunbar art group and takes part in the annual exhibition in the town, as well as exhibitions in East Linton, Cockburnspath, Leith Gallery Edinburgh and North Berwick.
