A Wee Bit of Cooking is an appealing Scottish food blog created and maintained by Wendy Harrison, a teacher living in the Highlands. Wendy has a passion for cooking food, growing food, sourcing food and, of course, eating food. And because she’s been blogging since 2007, her list of recipes is splendidly long.

But, this site is about more than just food. Wendy shares stories about her day-to-day experiences, often including photos of the places she’s been or the things she’s doing. And, much to our delight, this handsome little fella below sometimes appears on both her website and Flickr pages:

23518110283_deb464c3ad_kWendy’s most visited posts include the usual favourites of Stovies and a Scottish Tablet, but her assortment includes a wide variety of culinary adventures such as Thai Spiced Squash and Coconut Soup or Palestinian Musakhan Roll.

Browse through her soups, starters and sides and then have a look at the veggie and meat mains, or the fish and salads. Wendy’s collection also features pizzas, pastas, risottos and gnocchi. Last, but not least, (and our favourite section) — the desserts! From Savoury muffins and Joulutorttu to Apple Plum Pie and Courgette Scones, it’s difficult to decide which one to make first. We have a feeling you can’t go wrong no matter what you pick.
