Following the success of Rail Respect and the delivery of 278 rail safety workshops to 76 schools over two years, Scottish Youth Theatre is now working with Transport Scotland to create “Celebrating the Railway”, a unique street theatre performance to celebrate the opening of the Borders Railway in September 2015.
We are delighted to announce that we will be offering P6, P7 and S1 pupils from schools that have previously hosted Rail Respect workshops in Midlothian and the Borders, the opportunity to apply to become the cast of the “Celebrating the Railway”.
Working with theatre professionals, the cast of up to 50 young people will have the opportunity to create a piece of street theatre, to be performed at Waverley Station, inspired by the railway and Sir Walter Scott.
