Modern Scot offers simple display advertising. It keeps regional advertising rates deliberately accessible to support Scotland based businesses, sole traders, makers, charities, community organisations and local services during difficult trading conditions.
The aim is simple: to help Scottish enterprises be seen while keeping Modern Scot sustainable.
To buy an advert, simply find an available advertising block on the page where you would like to appear, click the block, choose your advertising period, upload your completed artwork and pay securely by Stripe.
Each advert must be supplied as a square 500 × 500 px image. Please have your artwork ready before you begin. If you are using Canva to design your ad, you might consider selecting the LOGO template which is preset at the correct size.
Advertising is available only for advertisers with a genuine Scottish connection. This includes businesses, charities, sole traders, makers, services, properties, products and organisations based in Scotland, or clearly serving Scottish residents, Scottish communities or visitors to Scotland.
Each block is tied to its own page and position. When you purchase a block, you are purchasing that specific advertising space for the period selected at checkout.
Before payment, you will be asked to confirm your Scottish connection, upload your advert, accept the Terms & Conditions, and confirm that your submission is subject to review.
All advertisements are reviewed before publication. Most approved adverts are placed live within 1 to 24 hours. Your advertising period begins only when your advert is approved and made live.
Modern Scot may decline or remove unsuitable, misleading, non Scottish, technically defective or non compliant advertisements in accordance with its published terms.
