Every website receives an IP address when a browser connects. We ask permission before retaining yours for ordinary visitor analytics.
If you use a VPN, the address visible to us will normally be the VPN address. For an ordinary visit, the IP address is held temporarily and erased once it is more than 12 hours old. The approximate country, region and city, together with the pages visited and technical statistics, may be retained.
This Site Ledger does not send your IP address to Google Analytics, Cloudflare, advertising companies or online location services. It stores records inside this WordPress installation. The hosting provider necessarily handles the connection used to deliver the website.
Security records are different. Attempts to reach protected files, submit unauthorised login requests, probe the site, scrape it aggressively or otherwise interfere with it may be retained for security review. Relevant records may be supplied to a competent authority where disclosure is lawful, necessary and proportionate.
“Leave Site” opens an independent, mildly ridiculous website. That website will receive your IP address when your browser connects to it and will apply its own privacy terms.
